Faramir and Eowyn cookie by noleme Faramir and Eowyn cookie by noleme
Some Houses of Healing cookie art. Faramir was a pain to draw; my drawing males has a long way to go yet. ;)Compared to him, Éowyn was a piece of cookie cake. He's not what I imagined him to look like, too: I'm afraid he ended up looking a bit Aragorn-ish. Ah well, at least that explains Éowyn's change of heart a bit - "Hey, cool, this guy looks a bit like him!" Heh.

Media - gingerbread cookie dough leftover, chocolate icing, flat-pointed and sharp-pointed toothpicks.

Secret Santa exchange gift for AmmeLirulin over at CoE, who requested Faramir and/or Eowyn.

I think this is my favourite cookie of yours - I'm a huge fan of Faramir and Éowyn!:aww: And I really like Faramir's look! It's always refreshing to see characters different from the movies, I think - it's always a bit sad that we lose our own images of the characters when a book adaptation is made. I actually think he looks more similar to Thorin!:D
I don't think I've ever seen chocolate icing before, I have to look out for it - I guess it's easier to handle and is not as liquid as usual sugar icing (or maybe that's just me, because my icing tends to be too liquid)?

Why, thank you! :D Content though I am with the LotR cast for the most part, I have my own mental images of each character that are mostly separate from the movie guys.
I'm glad you liked my Faramir. Being still rather new to drawing males, there are some anatomy issues with this drawing, but I'm looking forward to (hopefully!) improving some this year.
LOL at the parallel to movie-Thorin - it had never occurred to me before! (I think I saw the first Hobbit movie *after* I finished this particular cookie)

Adding sugar (at least I presume you use fine-powdered sugar like me, not crystals?) would not help to make your egg-and-sugar icing more solid? I know this one is tricky to make, mostly because no two eggs contain the same amount of egg-white, and what yields a perfectly glasslike (but alas, also yellowed) icing with a bigger egg white, turns into something snow-white but thick with a small egg white. Chocolate icing is pretty unreliable as well - it depends on the brand of chocolate cake icing (or melted cooking chocolate) you are using. If you happen to choose a poorer quality icing, you'll get light stains once the icing dries. :/ This Christmas I'm going for Dr. Oetker Deluxe chocolate cake icing, and Manner Wien Kuvertuere chocolate... and hoping for the best. *fingers crossed*
